City of Maple Grove named Money’s Magazine Second Best Place to Live

Maple Grove is the second best place to live to live in the country, according to Money magazine’s annual best places to live issue. The City of Eagan was ranked #11. The magazine ranked the 50 best small cities (population between 50,000 and 300,000), from a pool of 781 cities, based on 50 factors, including jobs, the city’s economy, the housing market, schools and healthcare.
Maple Grove, which has a population of 63,395, was ranked high on Money Magazine’s list because of the city’s available outdoor space, including its 36-mile network of paths that connects parks, schools and the city’s 10 lakes. The magazine also highlights the city’s easy access to Minneapolis, the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes with its mix of local and chain shops and restaurants, and the Twin Cities’ strong economy.
This isn’t the first time cities in Minnesota have ranked among the best. Chanhassen ranked No. 4 on CNN Money Magazine’s Best Places to Live among small towns with populations between 10,000 and 50,000 last year.
In 2012, Eden Prairie, Woodbury, Eagan, Lakeville and Maple Grove all ranked in the top 25 on Money Magazine’s best small cities to live in.
