Residents of Maple Grove and surrounding communities now have the ability to board Jefferson Lines buses at the Parkway Transit Station Transit Station, located near the Maple Grove Hospital at 9870 Maple Grove Parkway to travel throughout the State of Minnesota and with the ability to connect to other intercity providers across the country.
Jefferson Lines approached the City about the service after receiving requests from students attending college in Fargo and Moorhead. The students wanted to ride the bus, but preferred not traveling through downtown Minneapolis. The service launched Aug. 30.
These stops will not interfere with the city’s transit operations at the Parkway Transit Station.
More than 40 cities in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin now have direct service to and from Maple Grove, including: St. Cloud, Alexandria, Rochester and Walker. MN and Fargo, ND. Among the schools served are: U of M-Minneapolis, North Dakota State University, Moorhead State University, U of M-Rochester, Winona State University and Bemidji State University. Jefferson expects to enhance its service in Maple Grove in the coming months and years.
Suburban Transit Association provider Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) has served as a stop for Jefferson Lines buses for more than 10 years and has found it to be a successful and satisfying partnership.
