Plymouth Resident Wins Regional Commuter Challenge

Plymouth resident Dimitri Hatziegeorgiou was the grand prize winner of an IPAD2 in the 2011 Regional Commuter Challenge. Hatzigeorgiou is the regional director of all Starbucks stores in Minnesota and Iowa.

Mr. Hatziegeorgiou is committed to using alternative transportation as often as possible: he rides his bicycle to store visits, and takes transit (Jefferson Lines) from Burnsville down to Iowa when he visits stores in Iowa. Additionally, when traveling with one of his regional managers they will rent a hybrid car and carpool so one person can work while the other drives.

“We live in a wonderful city that offers so many easy and fantastic alternatives in getting to work,” he said. “We need to discover them and use them more. I have enjoyed using Plymouth Metrolink and my new bike to ride to Starbucks to work. I use my laptop on the bus versus driving to the office. I feel better, see new things and often meet new people. I encourage others to Go For It and try it too!”
