Suburban Transit Association (STA) commuters don’t have to imagine. That’s their reality.

The membership of the Suburban Transit Association (STA) would like to give you some insight as to how our members work in partnership with Metro Transit in order to provide seamless transit services throughout the metropolitan area. Founded in 1995, the STA’s purpose is to improve the metropolitan region’s transportation system by providing high-quality suburban transit services, thereby, reducing congestion in one of the fastest growing regions in the country. Reduced congestion in the region not only improves drive times and the quality of life for all commuters, but also benefits Minnesota’s statewide transportation system by reducing the need for future highway expansion projects in the metropolitan area.

The STA providers include Maple Grove Transit, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, Plymouth Metrolink, Prior Lake Laker Lines, Shakopee Transit and SouthWest Transit. Our members include public agencies and private companies that utilize innovative approaches to provide express bus service to riders of choice during peak congestion periods. Our passenger satisfaction rates are as high as 98% and many of our members have been recognized and honored by the Minnesota Public Transit Association, as well as the American Public Transportation Association.
